About the project
With this project I created a website for a local small business. This included everything from designing the logo, creating the web design, coding in HTML and making sure that the design is responsive to different devices (screen and mobile) and SEO optimised.
How
First I did some research about the market for burgers and foodtrucks in Melbourne. Then I considered how I could create a logo that would suit the business and its core. I also considered what the web design should look like, for example I found inspiration in South American street art for the colour scheme. I organised the content in a way that was logical and would enhance the user experience.
Before working in HTLM and CSS, I created wireframes in Adobe Xd. When coding I used div elements, ID’s, classes, social media icons, floating elements, links/anchor tags/hover, linked pages, media queries, position property value, flexbox, inline-block and meta tags.
Mobile first
Responsive design is crucial these days, and the website is designed for mobile first, then the computer screen. Features such as a map, web shop, contact form and search function are integrated in the design to further enhance the user experience.
