Customised hand lettering offers you that opportunity, to stand out and be unique. I have been researching and practising various scripts in order to create a piece of customised hand lettering.
About the project
The quote by Bob Dylan is inspired by blackletter which refers to scripts used primarily in Europe from the 12th to16th century. Blackletter is characterised by tall and narrow letters, straight vertical lines, tight spacing and line contrast.
How
I experimented with placing the letters closer together (spacing) in order to make the quote appear as a unity and more balanced. I also explored exit strokes (the e's and h's) and I integrated ligature, i.e. when letters are connected like e and d in live and outside, and y and t in you and must.
This project was created by hand using a piolet paralellel pen 3.8 and bleed proof A3 paper.
